3rd Grade: The Story of Dairy
The 3rd grade classes focused dairy production to gain an understanding of where the products they buy come from.

Our first session was a trip to the Ovaltop Holsteins in Richfield Springs, NY. A tour of the facilities, hand feeding calves, and Q&A with farm owners allowed students to see first hand where dairy comes from.

At the next session Donald Brown, Community Engagement Manager at Chobani, came to talk to the students about how Chobani got started and how they make their products. Students had time to ask questions and sample some Chobani products.
The last session was spent reflecting on the first two experiences. Students illustrated what they learned and fabricated an exhibit to share what they know about the dairy industry.
